ලෝවාමහාපාය - Lovamahapaya
පොහොය ගෙයක් වන ලෝවාමහාපාය ශ්‍රී මහා බෝධින් වහන්සේට උතුරින් පිහිටා ඇත.දුටුගැමුණු රජු විසින් නව මහල් ප්‍රාසාදයක් ලෙස කරවූ මෙහි ලෝහ උළු සෙවිලි කළ බැවින් ලෝවාමහාපාය ලෙස ව්‍යවහාර විය.සද්ධාතිස්ස රජු කළ ගින්නෙන් දැවී විනාශ වූ මෙය ඔහු විසින් යළි සත් මහල් කොට තැනවී ය.
ගල් කණු 40 බැගින් වූ පේළි 40 ක වූ මුළු කණු 1600 ක් මත මෙය ඉදි කොට ඇති අතර අදටත් එම ගල් කුළුණු දාකිය හැකි ය.මහසෙන් රජු කල නිකාය භේදය නිසා ලෝවාමහාපාය කඩා බිද දමා එහි තිබූ වස්තුව රැගෙන ගිය බව වංශ කථාවල සදහන් වේ.
අද අපි දකින ආකාරයට මෙය ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය කරන
ලද්දේ මහා පරාක්‍රමබාහු රජු විසිනි. වර්තමානයේ දී ද මෙ‍ම ස්ථානයේ භික්ෂූහු
විනයකර්ම සිදු කරති.
Lovamahapaya is located on the north side of the Sri Maha Bodhi. King Dutugemunu built this as a nine flats and with a metal roof. This was rebuilt by the King Sadhdhatissa, after it was destroyed by fire.
It was built on a total of 1,600 pillars with 40 rows of 40 stone pillars and can still be seen today. According to the "Mahavansha", during the era of King Mahasen, due to the sectarian divide, Lovamahapaya was destroyed and taken away its treasures.
As we see today, it was renovated by King Parakramabahu the Great.
